Dear friends and fellow laborers for Christ,
Let's try again!!! My attempts to recruit a team to go to Eagle Pass, TX. in
April 2008(this month) did not "pan out". So I have contacted the committee at
E.P. about the possibility of mid Oct.to mid Nov. for me to bring a team. Look
at these dates ( 1 of 4 weeks) Oct 19-25, Oct.26-Nov.1,Nov.2-Nov.8, Nov.9-
Nov.15. and tell me if you are interested or not and which week you prefer( rank
in order 1 most preferred 4 least). The work will be repairing homes damaged by
the tornado last year. We will plan to stay at the Methodist church in Eagle
Pass. You will need to bring a cot to sleep on and /or an air mattress and
pillow for cot or the floor, and bedding(sleeping bag or sheets and a light
blanket and your own pillow).
There are 4 or 5 RV hookups at the church. We will have access to the kitchen
there at the church. There are showers. You will need to bring your own towel
and wash cloth. The drive is about 2 hours from Kerrville. We will take St.
Paul's van and any other vehicles we need, depending on the size of the team. I
am sending this to some specific people who have been on mission trips with me
in the past or that I have spoken with directly. I am sending this letter to all
the churches in the Kerrville District SWT Conf. UMC. If you know of any one who
would like to join us,please let me know. The registration fee will be $250.00
per person to help pay for gas, food, lodging and some materials.( FEMA supplies
some of the materials).

For those who my not know me; I am a semiretired medical doctor and Missions
director at St. Paul's UMC in Kerrville. I would like for this to be a Kerrville
District project. Please let me hear from you yes or no.
Yours in Christ, Shalom, David Pope, Missions chair, St. Paul's UMC, Kerrville
