Hullabaloo Australian Shepherds reside on a small place in the Texas Hill Country. We run Brangus cows and a small flock of Katahdin ewes. We have been members of ASCA since 1997. Our kennel, Hullabaloo, was registered with ASCA in August, 2000 and we whelped our first litter in 2002. We first became involved with Aussies in the 1980's and entered our first stockdog trial in 1998. It has been an interesting and convoluted journey.
Melinda is currently Vice-President and Affiliate Rep for SWASA, an ASCA affiliate club. In addition to holding several officer positions in SWASA over the years, Mike and Melinda have served as stock handlers, trial secretary, Course Director, etc. at many of SWASA's events. Melinda is currently serving a second term on ASCA's Stockdog Committee. loading up

Together, Mike and Melinda have many years of experience handling and managing livestock. They first became involved in ASCA and ASCA trialing as a byproduct of training their first ASCA registered dog, purchased to assist with the chores on the ranch after the "day help" quit and left them short handed. heading calves

We strive to produce dogs that are problem solvers, task oriented and trainable by the average stockman...able to handle real world situations. You may read more about our breeding philosophy on our guidelines page.
Finding a solid working type Aussie is becoming quite difficult. It is a "buyer beware" market. For information regarding the working Australian Shepherd, visit the Working Aussie Source. The Working Aussie Source has a comprehensive kennel listing, many articles that pertain to working and training Aussies, and some very nice historical pieces about the breed and it's foundation as well. moving to new pasture
